Interview

When did it all start?
It all started when I was a kid and fell in love with theatre. Being on stage was like my second home; all I wanted to do was performing and play different characters. The first big theatre production I was in was Alice in Wonderland produced by Scenekunst. I’ve never sung before or danced and here I was in a musical. I played a shark. But not just any shark this role kickstarted my dream of becoming an actor. Fast forward to the last play I did was my graduation play 12 years later at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. We did Our Town, an American classic, which is every Danish girl dream. My parents flew out to see it and after opening night they told me I did a good job, but my shark performance is still their favorite. Although I consider myself more of a film actor now, theater will always have a special place in my heart.
If you were an advertisement, what would your slogan be?
Dreams will stay dreams until you act upon them
What does your career mean to you?
My career means everything to me, because of all the people who have helped me along the way. From production companies who took a chance on this Danish girl to my family who has always supported me I owe them my career. I’m not a self made woman I’m build up by all the people who believed in me along the way so whenever I feel like giving up I turn around and see all the people who have helped me get to where I am today. I’m so thankful for my career as an actor and I hope to make everyone I’ve met along the way proud.
What is your main motivation?
My main motivation is my family. Although they’re on the other side of the world I carry them with me on every set I go to. They made me the person I am today. I hope to carry on the values they taught me and give back the way I can with my acting. I hope to one day create more acting opportunities for my community and help more people make their dreams come true.
What is the part you enjoy the most? And the worst?
The part I enjoy the most of working in film is the teamwork. When being a part of a project were everyone is working together to create art is the best part of being an actor. I believe as an actor we are more than just there to act, we bind all the departments together. We’re the bridge between so many functions on set like sound, camera, makeup. So when we come to act we’re not just some actor on set we’re a teammate. I want to be the best teammate I can be.

My least favorite part is the jealousy. I’ve never been much for unnecessary competition. Actors who burn their bridges instead of strengthening them normally never get far in this industry. But I hate when I witness actors trying to tear down other actors.
Who are your idols?
I have three big idols: Margot Robbie, Grace Kelly and my sister, Sofie. If I could have anyone’s career it would be Margot Robbie’s. She both acts and produces and is the perfect business woman idol for me. The way the stays so humble while building such an amazing career is what I admire the most about her.

My first acting idol was Grace Kelly, from the first moment I saw her on screen I was in love. The way she inspires her audience and is timelessly an amazing actress is what inspires me. And finally my first idol ever was my older sister. Ever since we were kids I’ve looked up to her. When she told me she was going to take a chance and study anthropology I decided I wanted to take the chance and study acting. She was the first person I told when I got accepted into the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and she’ll be the first person I tell if I ever book a movie with Margot Robbie.
In case you need a break in your career, what else would you like to do?
I love to cook. It’s my favorite way to detach my brain while also doing something that fuels my body and soul. Besides that I love going on hikes and seeing more parts of Los Angeles. I’m so in love with this city so whenever I feel unmotivated I go explore LA and I get inspired.
Do you consider that nowadays there are more or less opportunities for new artists? Why?
I believe there are more versatile opportunities. The ways of producing entertainment is expanding, look how many streaming platforms we have. Another great example of how the industry is changing is vertical shows. The last one I was on got 3 million views after 2 days of being released. It’s now the number one series on Kalos TV. It’s a great example of how the industry is producing more opportunities you just have to broaden your horizon.
What would your idyllic life be like?
My idyllic life would be to produce and star in my own movies. I would love to collaborate with other talented artist to produce movies that will inspire generations to come. So when I come home I feel like I made a difference. And of course in my perfect life I would have a golden retriever named Bentley.
What are your next projects?
I just wrapped my 3rd mini series of 2024, and they’ll all be released this march. So follow along ABC news to catch the first glimpse of the trailer. Now I’m changing course and I’m flying to Ohio to star in the short film Looker directed by my award winning friend. When I return to LA I’m going to work on a project for Sundance Film Festival and possibly star in another miniseries in March.
