Cash G - Interview
When did you start to get interested in music?
Music has been a big part of my life pretty much always. It has been an outlet for relief or as a gateway to euphoria when finding that new sound. Music of all kinds, sounds ranging from the calming rain to a heavy upbeat 808 I love it all and it’s at that time when I was very young I new music was going to be a big part of my life. It wasn’t till about 15 years of age till I got into rap music and wanted to pursue it as a full time career.
If you were an advertisement, which would your slogan be?
MainelyHigh It’s on the brand
Which is the part you enjoy the most about music?
I can’t tell you how many amazing souls I’ve met along the way as well as major lessons learned through my journey of life. That alone has been worth it to me. But nothing makes me enjoy what I do more than hearing a final product of something me and Fernando have pieced together in the studio. It’s like at that moment everything makes sense everything that I’ve put forward has been for something, another reason I truly can’t stop doing what I’m doing.
Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… In which aspects has music helped you?
I don’t ever like to speak to people about my problems or success no matter how big or small. So as I mentioned before sounds and music for me is like an outlet for anything I got going on in my life good, bad or in between.
What does music mean to you?
Music is everything to me. This career path I’ve chosen was for a reason. It makes me feel part of this world like nothing else has before.
Who are your idols?
My idols from a very young age started with Blink 182, Fall out boy, All American rejects, My Chemical Romance etc. But as I got older Lil Wayne was it he was my true and biggest idol.
If you didn’t like music, what would you like to do?
Along with sound, I love graphic design and things of that nature. If I wasn’t doing music I probably wouldn’t be doing a whole lot of productive things with my time.
Do you consider that nowadays there are more or less opportunities for new artists? Why?
I think there’s always as much opportunity as work and effort you put into your craft. I think nowadays there are enough platforms to where any artist can have a chance but at the same time that many more are headed for that top spot. So when you look at it like that it’s kind of hard to say whether there are more or less opportunities for new artists.
What would your idyllic life as an artist be like?
Hitting the studio everyday and being able to record just as often with a team of loyal likeminded people.
