Mia Grace - Interview

When did you start to get interested in music?

I feel like I always was, honestly. My parents worked in the music industry professionally. My brothers do as well, it’s just in our DNA. I always wanted this as a career. It was always just a matter of when I was ready.

If you were an advertisement, which would your slogan be?

I think I’m funny and can sing.

Which is the part you enjoy the most about music?

I love creating it. I love everything about the process but I also love to perform.

Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… In which aspects has music helped you?

I just feel weird when I haven’t made music or worked on something in a while. It’s just a part of me. I wouldn’t feel fulfilled or like myself if I wasn’t doing music.

What does music mean to you?

It means everything to me. It means happiness, sadness, love, anger, fun, nonsense, meaning, just a fulfilling expression of life.

Who are your idols?

Minnie Riperton, Aaliyah, Michael Jackson and Rihanna.

If you didn’t like music, what would you like to do?

I’d probably be a therapist specifically for children. Working with kids is still something I would like to do.

Do you consider that nowadays there are more or less opportunities for new artists? Why?

I think there are more because artists are creating opportunities for themselves and other artists now. It’s become easier to be self sufficient.

What would your idyllic life as an artist be like?

Record, perform, love my friends and family, sleep, repeat.
