When did you start to get interested in music?

I’ve always had a deep rooted love for all types of music forms. I began singing and performing since I was in Pre-K. I remember making all girls band in kindergarten!

If you were an advertisement, which would your slogan be?

Sometimes you have to lose the battle, to win the war.

Which is the part you enjoy the most about music?

I enjoy the process of the actual songwriting and simply creating in general. I am able to really connect and find ways to express my inner feelings. I love finding ways to have my feelings relate to others and creating analogies. There are infinite ways of showing and not telling, when writing music, which I love.

Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves, heal injuries… In which aspects has music helped you?

During the pandemic, I experienced a loss that affected me dearly. The loss of my loved one lead me to finish my debut single, “One More Night”. I was able to heal, grow, and move on from my grief and depression and pour those heavy, unresolved emotions/conflict into a form I have always loved.

What does music mean to you?

Music means everything to me. It means expression. It gives me an outlet and a place to hide away when I’m lost. Music means healing.

Who are your idols?

The word “idol” holds a heavy title, so I would say inspirations. My inspirations are The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Taylor Swift, Metronomy, The Smiths, and my parents.

If you didn’t like music, what would you like to do?

Forensic Psychology/science has always tickled my interest as well as psychology in general. I also quite enjoy baking and acting, which I would definitely be doing full-time if I weren’t a musician!

Do you consider that nowadays there are more or less opportunities for new artists? Why?

In a way, it’s both more and less. There are more opportunities for artists because there are many forms of social media to spread a fan base and reach others and easier access to apps and tools. However, there are less opportunities due to the growing number of artists who are also trying to make it, using the tools that weren’t available before. Nonetheless, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

What would your idyllic life as an artist be like?

Going on tours, performing, collaborating with other artists, creating music, getting interviewed, and traveling, all add up to be my idyllic life as an artist!
