Interview

When did it all start?
I started my journey in the entertainment industry at 3 years old, when my mom put me in dance classes. I absolutely loved it and my favorite part about it was the getting to perform aspect. I would always make my little sister and cousins perform sketches for our parents when we were little. There was nothing that made me feel so alive and happy as performing did. As I got older I slowly transitioned into the acting world and absolutely fell in love with it.
If you were an advertisement, what would your slogan be?
Go the extra mile. It’s never crowded there
What does your career mean to you?
My career means everything to me, and I mean everything! I decided to leave my whole life behind in Denmark to move to Los Angeles. Leaving my family has definitely been the hardest part but acting is my focus. All I want to do in life is to become the best actress I can be. I work very hard every day to get better. As an actress there is always something new to learn or improve on. An actress is always a work in progress.

Acting is the driving factor in my life. It is often the focus of my day. I go to the gym or hike to stay in shape, work on scenes for my acting class, tape auditions, or I go to set.

Acting is what I do. I’m obsessed with all of it, the art, the craft and the business. It is not just my career but a huge part of who I am. I’m reminded daily that I truly have never felt more fulfilled and more powerful than when I’m acting and I know for a fact, it is what I want to do for the rest of my life.
What is your main motivation?
It begins with a desire to entertain. As actors we always hope that our performance “sticks” with people somehow. I have a genuine desire to make people feel something with my performances. To get them to see the world a little differently, connect with a character and question their assumptions and prejudices. Acting can be so powerful, as it can make you both laugh hysterically, scream with hatred and cry with sadness within the same hour.

Additionally, I am just obsessed with the craft. I think too many people forget when watching actors perform that they aren’t just “pretending” or feeling different emotions. As actors we inhabit other people’s words. We lose ourselves in the character and in the world they are in and temporarily inhabit a different reality. To me acting is magical and knowing that you can give someone a special moment ,where they experience a part of their feeling that was either blocked or they didn’t know existed, is my ultimate motivation.
What is the part you enjoy the most? And the worst?
The best part of acting is just getting to act. Performing is like this adrenaline rush that cannot be explained. It is very much like a drug. The more you do it, the more you want it. Also, seeing people be affected by my work. To know that I made them feel all sorts of emotions and took them on a journey is extremely gratifying and fulfilling.

The worst part on the other hand is definitely the rejection. You truly need thick skin and a passion for the craft to last in this industry. Additionally, not knowing when your next job will be. As actors we need to constantly be available. Either to film an audition that’s due in 3 hours or be ready on set by tomorrow morning fully memorized with 12 pages you have never seen before.
Who are your idols?
I am not really a person that idealizes people that easily. I think considering someone your idol solely because of their talent, is hard for me. I need to know that you are kind, have a good heart and are contributing to society, in the best way you can. Zendaya and Selena Gomez are prime examples of actresses that I grew up watching, that are immensely kindhearted, humble, hard working and have led their careers in beautiful and inspiring ways.
In case you need a break in your career, what else would you like to do?
It is very hard for me to imagine that I would be pursuing anything else. I feel like I was truly born to be an actress. However, if I needed a break I would definitely go on a world trip. I have traveled a lot in my life already, which has created an enormous urge to discover unknown places. The world is so big and exciting and there is so much out there to see. People, cultures, architectures, languages, food and lifestyles are just to name a few. What I would give, to be able to see it all.
Do you consider that nowadays there are more or less opportunities for new artists? Why?
I think with the dawn of streaming and social media, there are now way more opportunities for actors. It is just about knowing how to grab them or create them and publish them. If you are just starting out you have everything at hand already, to make yourself be seen. As simple as a video on social media of you acting, can catch the attention of an industry professional and from there anything can happen.
What would your idyllic life be like?
To lead a meaningful life, to make positive contributions to others, to have fulfilling experiences, to go on mesmerizing holidays, to love my chosen career and have authentic and loving relationships.
What are your next projects?
In the next couple of weeks I am going to begin shooting a short film called, “Changing Perspectives” and another one called “The Queen of Flowers”. However, the thing that I am the most excited about is a Supernatural Teen Pilot that I will shoot this summer. It is set to release on streaming platforms such as Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. I am going to play one of my favorite kinds of characters, which is a mean high school cheerleader.

I’m extremely excited about all the work I have coming up and I cannot wait for the world to see it!
